![]() There was no peace or tranquility due to motors screeching and clanging all day. ![]() The staff literally sleeps in the window and the whole place was under construction. I only stayed here because I needed a hotel last min and this was the cheapest. My only complaint was that there was no hot water early in the morning. The motel is about a mile from I-10, and fast surface streets let you bypass I-10 to downtown. There's a McDonald's a 2-minute walk away, and a Belize (the country) restaurant on the property that I didn't try. There are lots of major stores in the area: a big Target across the street, CVS and Ralph's supermarket in a shopping center a couple of minutes away, and many more. The three people I saw on staff were friendly and helpful. Having the front door always open to the street (with security at night) helped the relaxed feel: It told me that the area was safe and there weren't people hanging out nearby. My second-floor room had a window that opened using the bathroom exhaust fan (which pulled a lot of air from the window) made it easy to freshen up the room. Unlike some budget motels, my very big room had furniture that matched, fairly large fridge and TV, several mirrors, clean carpet without holes, a comfortable king bed, and quiet (though maybe that's because it was mid-October and not busy).
